Why I serve!
You may have heard my reasons for serving pet parents before. I lost my own dog and was upset that I had very few images of the two of us together doing the things we loved to do. If you would like the full story, check out End of Life Pet Portrait Sessions to Keep Those Memories Close for more about my journey into photography.
Because of the loss of my dog and through my love of photography, I have a special affinity for wanting to capture those bonds for other pet parents and their pets. While these sessions are important to me, I find that, just as I didn’t think about images of my pet until it was too late, my clients experience this same thing. Often times we think that we have plenty of time to do this or that only to have a a sudden awakening that no time is left.
My legacy sessions are a priority for just this reason. My clients are suddenly faced with the sudden mortality of their pet and need images NOW. When these pet parents see their world with their pet crumbling before them, their emotions can come out in a number of different ways. I have found the need to comfort and care grieving pet parents a number of times, but know that I am not fully equipped to handle all situations. This has led me to the next part of my journey.

Connecting with services and pet parents
To deepen my connection and better serve my clients as they are in the grief process, I have now become a member of ONE LAST NETWORK which will provide me with pet loss grief training by a certified grief coach- Angela Schneider. It will also afford me the opportunity to connect more deeply with pet professionals in my area and beyond that also help pet parents through the aging and death process.
I look forward to my training as well as connecting with the professionals in the veterinary or end of life care in my area. This includes integrative veterinary medical professionals such as massage, laser, acupunture as well as physical therapy to help alleviate pain.
If you know of a caring pet professional in the Syracuse area, I would love to hear who they are and your experience with them.
