Big Sky

Dogs playing at beach

This weeks subject provided a little bit of a challenge this week.  The weather was not cooperating.  Although we had a few brief moments that I saw big puffy clouds, they didn’t happen to be at a time that I was free to take some images, nor did I have a dog with me. I decided instead that I would work on some composite skills.  Since I don’t do these too often, I need to practice once in a while.  The Big Sky is from a visit to the beach in Ocean City, Maryland a few years ago.  The dogs are dogs that have been adopted from Second Chance Shelter. The sky is so big, that the dogs needed to be small in comparison.  Did you find all 5?

  1. What a great idea! The sky is fantastic – I guess maybe I should have tried to go to a beach but it’s pretty darn hot here except when the sun is ‘down’. Anyway, a thought on the dogs – something people mentioned to me – a small shadow around the feet will help them to be more ‘grounded’ on the photograph. Maybe look at some of the people and chairs to see where the shadows fall and try to do something like that for each of the dogs? Just a thought.

  2. What a great photo, and such a good idea to do a composite when the weather isn’t the best. I had to hunt for no.5, but got them all in the end
