This week’s blog is about HDR images. What HDR stands for is High Dynamic Range. To take an HDR image, the photographer would normally take a set of at least 3 images. One that is properly exposed, one that is overexposed and one that is underexposed. Then you take these images and combine them with digital software such as Lightroom or Photoshop. The purpose of this is to be able to get perfect exposures of all your shadows, neutral tones and highlight tones. Once the images are merged, your resulting image has a high latitude in adjusting the highlights and shadows and colors. This is especially helpful in mid day sun when there are high contrasts in a scene.
This week I took a picture of my own dog Declan. HDR can work well with black dogs as you are able to bring out the details of the dog. ( As long as they sit still).
