A winter snow warning was issued last night, so it was no surprise to wake up with several inches of snow on the ground. I don’t wonder that Punxsutawney Phil is predicting 6 more weeks of winter. Since Punxsutawney Phil is a distance from Syracuse however, I decided to do my own investigation to see if I could see my shadow. The wind was blowing, and it was difficult to see anything but the blowing snow. I can’t say I saw my shadow, since there was no sun to reflect back the snow on me, but with the cold and snow outside, it is hard to think of Spring coming anytime soon. I must say, that we havent had a bad winter this year as far as snow goes. For cold however, it has been brutal. I only stayed outside a few minutes to catch these shots, as my hands were quickly becoming numb. Enjoy the winter my friends. It looks like it will be with us a while longer.
