Strathmore is a beautiful section of Syracuse. The area is full of eclectic and historic homes. The residents of Strathmore are as eclectic as the homes, but all with friendly faces and a pride in their local area, especially their local Park. Onondaga Park is at the core of the neighborhood. This is generally where you will see your neighbors walking around Hiawatha Lake or enjoying the playground or swimming pool. In the summer, bands will play from the gazebo as resident’s picnic along the hillside. This a a very photogenic area and one I often find myself in to enjoy the surroundings. A sunrise and lake view is always a treat, but from the basketball courts you can also see the Syracuse University campus and the Dome.
Strathmore is Celebrating Art on the porches this Saturday. Ruskin road will be filled with over 60 artists, 12 musical acts, food vendors, a Sun salute parade and more. Join us 11-5 Saturday June 18th.
