Changing A pets Life! Highlights from last weeks adoption event

January 24th is change a pets life day. This is a day which highlights adoption centers and shelters in order to promote adoption.  Last weekend Second Chance canine Adoption Shelter hosted an event to do just that.  We had a wonderful time having people come in to see the dogs that are available at Second Chance as well as some from B & R Bunkhouse which is the shelter where dogs found in the city of Syracuse are brought.   Here are some of the dogs the public got to visit with this past Saturday.  You can also visit  Petfinder/Second chance  or petfinder/B&R Bunkhouse to view the current adoptables.

These dogs all seemed really loving. Contact the agencies to find out more about each one.

Other ways to change a pets Life:

1.) Volunteer

2.) Donate

3.) Spread the word.

Meet Cooper!

A fenced in yard would be preferred for Cooper. She knows basic commands, is house trained and crate trained.

Lessons from a Senior Dog

Nancy Kieffer

Working as a pet photographer as well as volunteering in a rescue, I have been blessed with getting to know a number of senior dogs. While I lost my Midnight at a young age, I was very fortunate to have Shamus with me for many years. Shamus was my clown, but boy did he know how to live! His wisdom grew as the years pressed on. I learned that each day spent with my senior dog was a lesson on the importance of living in the present, cherishing our bond and embracing our everlasting friendship.
