In Syracuse, you can’t depend on the weather. Sometimes it feels like we have 8 months of winter, even though in reality we don’t. This year we had many ups and downs as far as temperature. I was intent on providing my clients with snow sessions, but the couple times we had snow, it did not last long. Finally, the end of February we were blessed with enough snow to have a couple fun sessions. We had a wonderful session with Ein and his family.
There are some benefits for getting outside and having some fun in the snow despite the cold:
Exercise
Walking or playing in the snow is great form of exercise. Your dog will love running or playing with you in the snow, or just going for a nice brisk walk.
Bonding
Spending time building a snowman, or running in the snow can strengthen your bond and create wonderful memories.

Vitamin D
Syracusans tend to be deficient in Vitamin D. Even on cloudy winter days, getting outside can benefit you.
Relieve Stress
Peaceful surroundings and playing with your dog can help relieve anxiety and promote relaxation.

Meet Hank & Mabel!

Hank came in to the shelter with his daughter Mabel. They are a bonded pair that need to be adopted together.
Hank is very lovable and mellow. He seems to feel secure in the crate with the door open for snoozing. He loves to cuddle. Will need an area with no accessible stairs because he can’t see. He needs someone to be with him outside. He likes to walk around outside. He is a lap dog for sure. He just walks around and wags his tail all the time. He is crate trained and potty trained. Just a happy go lucky little blind guy.
He has an appointment to see the vet for his eye and it will most likely need to be removed. The shelter would cover his medical care.
Sweet Mabel is very sweet mellow girl who loves to cuddle up in your lap and be right by your side. She is crate trained and is easy to walk on a leash.
